The 19th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies “Archimedes - 2016” took place in Moscow Exhibition and Convention Centre “Sokolniki” from 29th of March till 1st of April 2016.
More than 300 organizations, participants from 18 states and 38 regions of the Russian Federation, presented their innovative projects and inventions.
This year Salon “Archimedes” is correlated with 55th anniversary of J. Gagarin space flight.
Maximum of exhibit items were presented in the following classes:
Aviation, aerospace industry
Medicine and medical diagnostics, veterinary, medical models, medical products and pharmacotherapy
Land, sea and air transport
Radio, television and communications
Human safety, protection and rescue
General machine-building industry
Agriculture and forestry
Technology of new and renewable energy sources
Navigation and control systems
Specialize contests, mentioned below, were prepared and organized by Salon “Archimedes - 2016” in cooperation with the following organizations: Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disasters Response, Federal Service for Intellectual Property (ROSPATENT), Moscow Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship, GC “Avtodor”, Department of Housing, Utilities and Amenities of Moscow, Department of City-Building Policy of Moscow.

Salon “Archimedes -2016” exposition occupied 5000 m2 of exhibiting area and was subdivided into the following clusters:

Military and Industrial ( enterprises of the Ministry of Defence and military-industrial complex)
Scientific and Research (Russian Academy of Sciences)
Scientific and Production
Scientific and Technical Creativity of Youth University (higher education establishments)
International
New samples of large-sized equipment were available for familiarization on the platform of technodrom, while new flying vehicles and pilotless aircrafts, presented on exposition of Moscow Aviation Institute, were available for testing to all the participants and visitors on the territory of flight test airfield.
Several important events took place throughout Salon’s program:

- Roundtable Discussion «Intellectual property protection problems and their solutions in sphere of high technologies» - organizers: Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Moscow City Organization of All-Russia Society of Inventors and Innovator;
- Roundtable Discussion “Practice of engineering development in Russia”- organizers: Moscow City Organization of All-Russia Society of Inventors and Innovator, National Association of Engineers of the Russian Federation;
- Roundtable Discussion «Features of intellectual activity patenting in the EU and the USA»- organizers: «Sojuzpatent» LLC, Moscow City Organization of All-Russia Society of Inventors and Innovators
- Roundtable Discussion «The legal protection and use of results of intellectual activity and technologies in rocket and space industry organizations under the action of the Federal Law № 215 from 13.07.2015 «About State corporation for space activity «Roskosmos» - organizers: JSC «Russian Space Systems», Moscow City Organization of All-Russia Society of Inventors and Innovators;
Prime briefing on the commercialization of participant’s inventions of Salon «Archimedes», organized by Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow was held for the first time.
Presentations of the best innovation projects of collective expositions of Taiwan, Poland, Ryazan Region, Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Management, and Natural Disasters Response, OJSC «Russian Railways», Air Force Academy named after N.E. Zhukovsky and J. A. Gagarin, Military Educational and Scientific Centre of Air Force were held during Salon-2016.
Salon’s participants and guests came along with space theme from the first moment of Salon visiting. Space feeding from space feeding devices, located near the exposition entrance, was available for everyone.
Visitors were waited by unique space exhibit items, presented by joint exposition of Moscow inventors’ and organization of industry and science: mini Mars station, microsatellite, Mars rover vehicle with antenna, long lived autonomous space station and exhibiting model “Fobos”, presented by RAN and many other showpiece.
Young visitor of the exhibition gladly studied to work with 3D printer after acknowledgement with the space vehicles.
Everyone, who wished to do so, was able to test the first Russian smart bracelet “ONETRACK” not far from space exhibits platform.
It was hard not to take some pictures with race car, presented by Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI).
Moscow exposition impressed participants and visitor most of all. It was located in the center of exhibition and demonstrated 250 projects and inventions of different classes, presented by scientific organizations, industrial enterprises and universities of Moscow City.
Big tricoloured flag waved over Moscow exposition and its five topical units: scientific and technical creativity of the youth, universities of Moscow, small innovative business of Moscow, Moscow industry and academic science.
All research works got through competitive selection and were highly appreciated by experts, which proved one more time high scientific and technical and innovational potential of Moscow city. “Moscow is the city of innovations”.
Moscow Children’s technopark was presented on the joint exposition. Thematical events for children, such as inventions presentations, interactive platform and different workshops, took place there every day.
Children’s technopark platform attracted children and grown ups during all four days of the exhibition.
An excursion to the museum of cosmonautics was organized for young inventors at the last day of the exhibition. They had a chance to learn a lot of interesting about space, history of soviet and Russian cosmonautics, USSR space industry establishment, the first Earth space satellite, the first human’s space flight, flights of space vehicles to the Moon and other planets of Solar System and many other curious facts.
Salon was visited by 6000 guests in 4 working days period; including students, school children, enterprises’ and organizations’ delegations.
